Clare is originally from the Coleraine area. After qualifying as a teacher, she taught Geography in Northern Ireland and in an international school in Asia. On returning home, her passion for community development and social justice led to working as a development education facilitator enabling participation in both discussion about and active response to international community development issues.  Clare has continued to work as a facilitator in the Community, Voluntary and Statutory Sectors, focusing on participatory methods that connect individuals’ knowledge and expertise for collective decision making and ownership within community and organisational planning, support and development.

Outside of work she enjoys the challenges and good craic of family life, good food and watching films.


PhilLip Rankin

Director

Facilitator

Phil is originally from Bangor and moved to Portadown as a teenager.  He has a strong background in research and community and organisational support.  He is particularly focussed on using participative and tailored methodologies to enable individuals and organisations to engage in the development of their skills, experience and purpose.

The variety of approaches used has offered opportunities for people to reflect on their own change and development, creating significant impact in organisations, in communities and the spaces in people live and work.

Outside of work Phil is a keen Liverpool supporter and the lead hockey coach of the ladies section at Banbridge Hockey Club.


Susan McEwen

Facilitator

Susan is from Belfast.  She worked for the Corrymeela Community from 2004-2016.  During her time there she pioneered their storytelling work developing a resource called Through The Green Gate. She designed and delivered projects looking at leadership, gender and community engagement.  She has a long history  of working with artists, developing collaborations and exploring difficult issues through creativity and experiential learning.  She has worked locally and internationally in projects that use creative dialogue to bring people together from diverse and often conflicting back grounds. She has a worked extensively with women’s groups especially looking at leadership and capacity building. 

Susan is also a qualified yoga teacher and is passionate about bringing mindfulness and reflective practice into the work place.
